We arrived in Thailand around 1:30am on Wednesday, November 5th.  We decided to wait 2 hours to check into a room so we didn't have to pay for a full day that we would only use for 8 hours.  We walked down to the only bar that was open and people watched for a few hours.  Oh...the things you see around 4am in Bangkok.

It took us a few days to get caught up on sleep and adjust with the time here.  We're 12 hours ahead of Central Standard Time.

We took a boat ride to see the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha, a tuk-tuk around Patpong, and a lot of walking around Khao San Road.  Khao San Road is the main backpacker accommodation area in Bangkok so it has a very transient, vibrant feel.

We could only handle Bangkok for a few days.  Dirty, smelly, and too many people approaching us with "deals".

We're off to Ko Phangan...
