When we got back to the hotel, we asked at the front desk about the drive through Smoky Mountain Nat'l Park. There were no alerts or closures, so we are planning to drive through the park ttomorrow on the way to Atlanta. We hope to at Karen's around noon-ish.
We couldn't believe Pigeon Forge - it has grown up SO much! So many things to see and do. But our goal was Gatlinburg and we finally rounded the curve of 441 on the west end of of town about 6:30 p.m. Gatlinburg has changed a lot too, but it still has the same feel. People walking everywhere. After getting settled in our room, we decided to walk up the street to "The Peddler." It has been part of Gatlinburg's upscale places to visit for a long time. We got to the restaurant about 7:30 p.m. and they were able to seat us right away. This is the first time I've ever had a steak cut at my table and shown for my approval of the cut. It was cooked yum, yum good. We opted to skip dessert.
