I flew out of Phoenix Friday morning on U.S. Airways flight 1 and arrived in Chicago 12:45PM. After catching the train into the city I arrived at our hotel, the Mariott Magnificent Mile, that was just a block off Michigan Ave. This provided a good central location for the weekend (not to mention we got a steal of a rate with Mike's millitary discount). The rest of the afternoon was spent eating solo at an italian restaurant and walking down on the waterfront. Mike was the first of the guys to arrive, we got dinner at a great pizza parlor and put down a few beers. Moops and Barnett arrived at the hotel at roughly 9:45 that evening and at that point we dove head first into partying on the Gold Coast. This seemed to be a pretty good night spot, lots of people out and plenty of bars and clubs to choose from(we stuck to bars). Nearing 1:45am we decided to head back south to our hotel. We then proceeded to enter an extremely nice condo building under the assumed identity of the Pizzuto brothers. We were going to visit a girl name "Caroline". After allowing us in, the doorman immediately realized his error and communicated to Moops (who remained in the lobby) that he was contacting the authorities. We left before any trouble found us.
Saturday started with me finding the oldest man (who Moops has since pointed out looked much like Salvatore Ferragamo) in the city and asking him to take a picture for me? He actually did a great job considering.
We had brunch at a nice little place with outdoor seating by the river. Mimosa's went well with the meal. Follwing brunch we headed south down to Millennium park.
The highlight of the day was the architectural lake and river tour.
To cap the afternoon a drink was in order. We decided to go to the lounge on the 96th floor of the Hancock building and enjoy the veiw.
After much debate, we decided on a steak house for dinner. We had a great waiter by the name of Chris Schwartz. He met us after work and proceeded to slam beers. The night ended with Big and Tasty's (for a more refined/adult taste) at McDonalds.
I had to dip out as soon as I woke up the next day, at Noon. More Noreasters to come, cant wait till next year fellas.
