With a tiny amount of sleep, headed onto the bus for a 6 hour ride to Puno.  Got in at 4 and had a late lunch in a cool cafe before heading to the port to consider am afternoon lake trip to see the sunset. Unfortunately the rain kicked in, so we had a few hours rest before Rog and I went out for a quiet drink.
The next day we were up early and to the port for a day trip to Uro and Tequina. The floating island culture of Uro was quite fascinating, though hard to tell how authentic (we were told they really do live that way though it's shrinking from 8k peeps 20 years ago to 2K peeps now). We switched boats onto a private boat, which was much more comfortable and with a cooler guide. Then onto the island of Tequina crusing slowly for 2.5 hours. The island, was supposedly still traditional (having been freed from its owner 40 years ago) but seemed to have a lot of tourists come by. They wore 16th century Spanish bullfighter outfits which made it interesting. Lunch at a place off the main square and a gorgeous boat ride back with stunning light over the lake.
A quick dinner and onto a not so fun 7 hour bus ride to Areqipa where we arrived at 3am!
