Waking up looking over the lake at Frankton was great. We headed off the 5 minutes to Queenstown, parked the monster and enjoyed the bustling adventure town that is Queenstown.
Unlike its counterpart in South Africa, this Queenstown boasts perfect views of snow capped mountains over a beautiful glacier lake with adventure activities a dime a dozen. Everything is on offer here from bungee to helicopter rides and white river rafting. We got into a laundromat and sorted some washing, updated you all with our news and then had some lunch before hitting the road for the glaciers. The excitement is now starting to bubble over ............ we are getting close to the time when we walk on the glacier!!!!!
We drove along another amazing scenic road through the Southern Alps through Wanaka and eventually we stopped just outside Makorora in a DOC campsite, with the customary beautiful view over a lake. Carbonara pasta with the works was our dinner and then an early night. More thumbnails ...
