On Thursday dad and I went on the Sydney cricket and football grounds, while Jules went to Kings Cross so she could use the internet phone.

The tour was great.  The home of the NSW Warrathas, the Sydney roosters and the Sydney rugby league team, was the venue for 5 rugby world cup games in 2003.

The biggest crowd was 51 233 people at a U2 concert in 1993.

The highlight was the Sydney cricket ground tour.  We were taken through the members long room, now called the Bradman bar.  We looked around the Aussie changeroom, saw where the Aussie greats sat/sit.  Steve Waugh arrived while we were looking at the changerooms an added bonus Aussie dressing room

.  We saw the changeroom table with marks left by various players, especially the big stud marks left by a drunk Justin Langer.  We heard about the trapdoor below the carpet in the changeroom, which allows the players to stay inside the changeroom and celebrate their victories by bringing up beers from the cellar below. We saw the huge hole that mike slater made in the door jamb when he smashed his bat into it.

We walked out the changeroom door that Maddy Hayden broke, out onto the players balcony and down towards the pitch.  We rubbed don Bradman's nose at the white picket fence and then stepped out onto the legendary field.

It was a good time, Dad and I had a photo in front of the member's stand, built in 1886 and now has a 14 000 member waiting list, with Steve Waugh standing behind us in the in the Bradman bar.

After a look through the cricket museum in site, we went into town to Virgin Mega Store so Dad could look for some cd's.

For dinner I made lamb kebabs, grilled butternut, glazed carrots, mushroom/onions, fries and Greek salad, basically using up what was in the fridge.

Our time here is drawing to a close, boo hoo.

Hi again
The tour of the cricket ground must have been a wonderful experience, Greg....something I'm sure my own Dad would have loved to have seen. He was also a fanatic follower of cricket & a great player too! So it was great that you & your Dad could have that experience. Thanks Jules for the call..it was lovely to chat to you again in person & to ask you things that cross my mind every now and again. The Sharks play the Stormers this arvie in CT so we'll be watching that at 5pm. Love to you & God bless you as you continue on your travels to NZ. Dad and Mom xxxx
