So, okay, I'm writing this from memory about two weeks after the event, so with my memory that means the details are a little sketchy at best!

Had only one day and night in Bangalore before heading to Mysore on a daytrip before returning to Bangalore to take the train to Chennai. Spent the day sightseeing, if you can do that in Bangalore. It's a little short on sights, but does have a very nice law court (guess that says it all really!). Went to watch an Indian movie in the evening. Got stared at like a sideshow freak queuing up to pay and until the lights went down. Obviously I didn't have a scooby what was going on with the dialog, but don't think that really matters with Indian movies. During the interval a bloke sat behind me filled me in on anything I'd missed - to be honest it wasn't much. And, of course, it had a nice happy musical ending!

Erm, saw Mysore Palace, and a temple on a big hill. To be honest I didn't feel too hot there, and spent most of the day longing to get back to Bangalore and go to bed. Think the overnight journey from Hampi to Bangalore had caught up with me. To be fair, the palace was very nice, and the views from the hill temple and the Big Bull (yes, that is its proper name) were superb. Not so much a case of me having 'temple fatigue' just yet, but more a case of being completely spoilt for amazing sights in Hampi, and these not quite living up to those.

Both places made a nice stop-off point on my way over the East coast for Chennai and Mahabillipuram (Mamallapuram).
