Entry 35 of 40 | show all | print this entry

We all set off early once again to ensure we got a bed.  We decided to walk two long days in order to get us to Santiago for Sunday the 12th August, however on reaching our initial destination, Azrua, the hostel was full.  We had little choice but to walk on to the next available accomodation an extra 12km away.

The kilometers, maybe for the first time on the trip was all i could think about, and Andrea and I played the wishing game...wishing for something nice around the next corner or over the next hill, it seemed to take the mind off the distance and after a while we arrived at a small roadside motel type place and rested our feet.

We had walked a massive 43km that day, 26 miles in total, but now we were just 25km away from the Catherdal in Santiago.  A small lie in and we´d hope to arrive early afternoon the next day.
