The idea was to drive to Las Vegas and eat dinner at a place I saw on Food Channel, the Carnival Buffet in the Rio Casino. It was a challenge just finding a parking space in the high rise parking structure. Walking from the car to the casino was a game of dodging over priced cars driven my overly self important people. Once in the casino we were bombarded with loud dance music. We had walked into to a Chippendale show with men and women dancing on platforms above the casino floor. It took what seemed like forever to work our way to the other side of the casino, through the crowd of people lining the balcony rails to see the dancers, to get to the buffet. I will never do that again. Not that the food was bad, we didn't eat anything
Greg is right. For whatever reason, I thought that this place that Greg had picked out was a small place. I have no idea why. It really had been about 25 years since we'd been through there. I remember that it was 110 degrees outside that day, and all we did was get out of the car to go into a McDonald's or something to eat. It was yucky then, and it's yucky now.
Well, 25 years later, EVERYTHING is built up. More buildings, cars, freeways, and casinos. It's supposed to be more family oriented. Whatever. The Rio Casino is about 20 stories tall, and when you go in, there is really loud music, and too many people, and smoke, and yuck. Oh, and when we got to the buffet, there was a line about an hour long!
Can you tell, I hate Las Vegas?
We did go to Henderson, still too many people, freeways and cars. But phew, we did make it to our hotel and food! As Greg said, never again!
