Weather: Finally sunny, some sea fog because of the sea spray. 17C We woke to the pounding surf and sunshine! We walked along the beach in the park for awhile, our first walk along a Pacific coast beach. The surf from the storm was wonderful. We decided that the sun was going to burn off any lingering sea fog so we headed up the road in the car to the Cape Lookout trail head. This trail leads you to the point of the park, a hike that is 3km one way through the forest with trees that are at least 100ft. high on one side and sheer drop offs to the sea on the other side. The hike to the point was worth it, the panoramic views were amazing. By the time we got back to the car and drove back to Star our clothes were full of mud from the wet paths. We packed up Star and headed for our next stop in Beverly Beach State park in Newport, just past Depoe Bay.

After getting setting up our campsite for the night we went into Depoe Bay. This is a little town known for whale watching and for having the smallest harbour in the world. The surf along the wall there was incredible. A lady in one of the stores said that there was a whale just inside the harbour marker and just as we watched we saw the whale blow twice.

We drove along the coast and took the old highway at Otter Crest, again the views were great and in the cove about 500 ft. below us there was a large pod of seals.

Back to Star for supper and evening drinks.

Glad that you finally got to see the sunshine. But all in all you are still seeing the spectacular views and country sides. Have fun in the sun.
