On Thursday we had a relaxing day chilling at home.  With our trip nearing the end, our thoughts are turning to home and seeing friends and family again plus of course getting back to work and school.  It feels like we have been away for the perfect amount of time for us - plenty of activity and new experiences and also plenty of down time and relaxation.  We have had a fantastic time and have so many stories to tell but all feel ready to come home and get back in to 'normal' life again.

There was a fantastic thunder storm that passed through on Thursday night.  The first we knew of it was what sounded like an enormous explosion like a bomb going off.  I would never have guessed it was thunder, it really sounded like something we hear from the West Melton army range only 100 times louder.  I rushed out to see what it was and found Dan who was sitting very relaxed having not moved a muscle.  When I exclaimed loudly about the noise he simply shrugged and said 'oh that, that was just thunder'.  Tourists - they have no idea! The storm went on for several hours although that first crack of thunder was the loudest.

On Friday we headed out to Sentosa Island to go to Universal Studios.   It is a great park - it only opened in May 2011 and has lots of fun rides.  We went on the full on rollercoasters which were great!  They are Battlestar Galactaca themed rollercoasters - 'Cylon' is a coaster suspended from the track with legs free that performs intense manoeuvres including several inversions in the form of a zero-g roll, a Cobra roll, corkscrews and vertical loops. The Cylon coaster also plunges in to a 16ft deep pit filled with artificial fog that gives the sensation of a near miss with the ground.   The 'Human' coaster reaches speeds of up to 90 kph but doesn't have the same inversions as the Cyclon.  Both are 'make you scream' roller coasters and brilliant!
We spent several fun hours trying all the rides, getting wet on the water ride and sampling the typical 'Disney' style fare of churros and slushies!

Returning home, Michael and I joined the boys for our final night of Friday football and had another great workout where once again I win the prize for the reddest face!
