On Tuesday Richard and I went in to Orchard Road and wandered through the shops until it was time for me to go and meet Clifford, my friend and old Wellnomics colleague who I used to share an office with.  It was great to see him and catch up on each other's news.  It was sad to hear just how difficult the transition back to Singapore has been.  12 years in NZ gets you used to a particular lifestyle and nearly everything about Singapore is different to NZ.  Hopefully though he is about to make some changes on the work front which will help.

Rich and I met up again and browsed through Chinatown, catching the MRT back home.  It still makes us smile how clean and quiet the MRT is.  At Raffles Place, there are fresh orchids at the station and everything is white and sparkling - SO different from Paris in particular, but also New York and London.

We've been enjoying lots of swimming now we're back, and later that afternoon I went with Rebecca to watch Dan play school rugby.  It is amazing how the kids play in the sweltering heat, and also interesting to see that 2 of the 3 coaches were Kiwis.  I spoke with a mother on the sideline who is South African but has lived in Dubai for 7 years and Istanbul for 3 before their most recent move to Singapore.  She had great stories to tell!

On Wednesday we went out to Sentosa and went bodyflying in a wind tunnel for indoor skydiving.  iFly Singapore is a newish attraction and was great fun!  After 'pre-flight training', we put on flight suits, goggles, helmets and even earplugs and went in to the tunnel area.

One by one we took our turn, 'falling' in to the tunnel and then flying around as winds up to 300kph blew from below.  It was a crazy experience - scary, fun and definitely an adreniline rush!

We caught the monorail back to VivoCity (one of our favourite malls), and then after buying new running shoes for each of us came back home for yet another swim!
