The great thing about IKEA is that we always go in not actually needing anything but manage to come out with a full bag. Happily it didn't disappoint and as always I was only limited by what I can carry home - shame because I saw a great floor rug......
After IKEA, Richard, Michael and I went to a mall called Great World City which we like for a couple of reasons - there is a fun Timezone there and also the yummiest pretzels!
We started with lunch in a very Chinese restaurant where we were the only non-Chinese and no one spoke more than a few words of English. Our meal was delicious though with the best dumplings we've tasted.
After getting a fresh, hot pretzel we grabbed a taxi to go our to an industrial area where we had been told we needed to drop off Richard's watch which we'd bought here last time we were here and which needed fixing. Seeing the industrial area was quite eye opening. The place we were dropped off at was a huge 'park' of buildings. There was very little signage, only 'lobby' numbers and 'block' numbers, neither of which matched anything we had for the address. After calling the place and being told which Lobby to come to, we still wandered around a labyrinth of utilitarian buildings until somehow we managed to find the place we wanted. There must have been hundreds of businesses and offices in these buildings and along the corridors, none with signage of any kind and very few with natural light.
After returning home, Michael, Zac and I had fun trying out the new underwater housing I got for the camera - as you will see, we need a little more practice!
