It is going to be so hard to say goodbye to the other counselors in training and professors on this trip. We all have clicked so well and have gotten to leave our own mark in each others lives. We have less than 48 hours until we depart this beautiful city. Today we travelled to Florence and we literally spent the ENTIRE day there. We went to see the infamous David statue. Words cannot do this piece of art justice. The details of The David are so profound. Photographs are not allowed inside the Academy but I managed to sneak one in lol After we left the Academy, you can probably guess what we did. A little bit of shopping before going to the day treatment center to meet Dr. Chiconi and his staff who treat individuals with mood disorders. We viewed some of the art made by some of the clients who participate in group. We also had the chance to meet an actual patient of Dr. Chiconi. The Italian people are really big on art and music therapy which really works for their clients.  After we left the Day treatment center, we travelled back to the markets in Florence to finish shopping. We didnt finish of course so we will make our final trip back to Florence tomorrow. We hung out with our professor Dr. Tyson today also. He helped us pick out gifts which I think he did a very good job hanging in there with 7 women. He has pretty good taste too if I must say so myself. We stayed in Florence until our dinner at 7:30. The atmosphere in this restaurant had a calm, mellow atmosphere. The waiter actually explained the entire menu to us so that we could know what we were ordering. This was a first. We all talked about our experience here in Italy and everyone acknowledged that this was just an awesome learning experience and I couldnt think of a better group of people to experience this with. Once we finished dinner we caught the train back home to Reggello. The fun only intensified when we got on the train and met up with other participants. We decided that in order to go out with a bang, we were going to make a Harlem shake video called the Tuscany edition. It was soooooo much fun. We even got the professors to get in on the fun. This is an experience that you can not get anywhere else. Learning about the profession I love while simultaneously experiencing Italian culture with wonderful people is more than I could ever ask for. I am truly grateful and I will miss every single person I have come into contact with.
