Today we headed to Amsterdam to visit The Rijksmuseum. This museum is home to some of the most famous Dutch artwork including paintings by Rembrant, antique Delfware (hand-painted pottery), and paintings by several other artists. The museum is a huge, beautiful building, but unfortunately it is under construction so we weren't actually able to see all of the artwork. We really enjoyed what we saw though!
Then we walked around the city and did some last minute Christmas shopping. Nate had a near claustrophobic breakdown while we were shopping because the streets were so packed with people! Really, you couldn't walk anywhere without having other busy shoppers rub up against you. That's what you get when you live in the second most densely populated country in the world! Mid-shopping we were hit with a hail storm. That's right, hail not snow! I don't understand the science behind weather, but for whatever reason hail has become a common occurrence and it has yet to snow.
