Today we visited Gouda- the largest exporter of cheese in the world! We LOVE cheese so it was so much fun for us to sample all the different kinds. They have different ways of making gouda cheese so none of them taste the same. They make cheese from cow, goat, and sheep; and depending on the age of the animal or the age of the cheese you get different flavors. The most interesting thing was that none of the cheese was refrigerated. They have a special way of packing it so that it does not need to be refrigerated- once it is opened however it needs to be. The cheese is also so cheap here! We bought a bunch of cheese and a bottle of wine and we are looking forward to eating it soon!
