Flying to the Island of Chios was a great challenge to me.

This is my third attempt to flying to this, -  not so familiar to foreigners Greek island, and till the last moment I thought that something would happen again and miss this trip.
Luckily nothing prevented me from flying, and I feel so privileged.

In this first attempt to getting to know the island and write a guide about it I will try to see as much as possible on the southern part of the island.  Believe me, to see the whole island you need to stay at least 10 days here.
Six days was so little, and actually it was even less because I thought that since I am out here in Chios why not see my dear friend (Manzara)....the Local Expert of Turkey!!!
So I spent 2 fabulous days with David and his wife Elaine.  (I will post entries from our visit in the coming days...)

Now....back to Chios!
I compare the hospitality of  the people in this island similar to those of my country, - Cyprus.  I have travelled to more than 30 countries throughout the world and I felt this human touch of kindness and hospitality of the people in this island only in my country!

Chios villages are UNTOUCHED and this makes them UNIQUE.  I have never seen such a historically unspoiled island before.  You have to come here to see it all.  In this trip I managed to see the southern part of the island, but after the trip to Kenya and Uganda where I am going on my Mission trip the end of June, I am planning to return and explore the northern part as well.  There is so much to see and do here, and the people are  beyond exceptional believe me.

I left with the best memories, and I am really looking forward to flying here again very soon.

After a very careful search over the island as usual ......I had been studying every detail the whole trip for at least 2 weeks, I decided to visit the village of VESSA will be reading about it in my second entry.
I have taken so many photos from this beautiful island,.....including Cesme that I cannot wait to share with you.

Like always, I tried to find a reliable Car Rental Company, and a week later I found that CHANDRIS Rent a Car was the best in the area, with affortable price and new comfortable cars.
Upon arriving Mr. Isidoros was waiting for us with my name written on a piece of paper, and after a couple of signatures we are off to explore our first destination.

I really hope that I won't disappoint you with this tour you are going to be having with me the following days!!!
I would love to hear your comments and I do hope you love the pictures I have taken this time as well as the contents of this (guide) of Chios.
I believe that after reading my entries, you will surely have Chios included in one of your future trips.

So, off we go ...for the first destination which is  Vessa.
