My Trip to Cyprus in June

I am flying to Cyprus this morning and I expect the day to be a difficult one. We were in Athens for some days before the trip when the bad news reached us. It was on Thursday afternoon when I got a phone call from my sister telling me that Mum is in hospital and she is having an operation today –Monday.   For this reason I am going straight to the hospital.

To make story short it seems the operation was successful and Mum is recovering well. It is the first time I feel the absence of Mum in the evening. I am all alone at home and I don't feel good at all.

Early in the morning I see Mum before leaving Larnaca. I will be away for 3 days and then return to see her and spend some days at home before the next destination. I will try to move around by using the public means of transport unless friends offer to give me a ride. I need to do this for my guides and check alternative and cheaper ways of going around the island in an attempt to show that Cyprus is not as expensive as people claim it is.

I arranged to spend 3 nights at a family hotel in the outskirts of Latchi in Paphos, just 1.5 kms from Aphrodite’s Baths. The beach here is one of the best….if not the very best! The owners, Gregoria and Tasos are truly professionals, very friendly and the food fresh and home made. The views from the restaurant terrace are breathtaking and it is the first time I feel the need to urge people who are visiting the island this summer to spend some days here.

Hi Popi, i'm sorry to hear of your mother but it's good that she is recovering. By the way, the flowers look lovely.
