Heading to Lefkara

We reach Larnaca and we leave our luggage at home. My sister takes the whole of my daughter's family and drives them to the beautiful village of Lefkara where we have a small country house. I remain at home and try to get some sleep but alas!!! I am probably too excited myself so I am not able to sleep even for a second.  In two hours I am picked from home and we are on our way to Lefkara where we have a family reunion.

This was one of the reasons why I picked to fly on such day.  We are more than 40 people gathered out there and the moment they see me coming there is really a big fuss.  Hugging and kissing and wishing (Christos Anesti)  and (Alithos Anesti).  This means that Christ has risen, and the other person replies back with Alithos Anesti, meaning that 'Indeed He has risen’.

The beautiful countryside with the so many colours and the warmth of the people I find out here revive my spirits.  The signs of tiredness go away immediately.

We are eating and drinking, taking short walks in the fields and laughing and teasing each other a lot.  It is a great moment for the family and these moments or such reunions are quite scarce.  It is indeed a big celebration with all members of the family present.  Of course there are not so many chairs or tables for everyone but this does not matter at all, as long as we are together.  This is what matters at these great moments.  The kids are surely sitting on the ground, and not only! The younger members of the family help a lot with the serving, and cooking and yes….we are here and this is what matters.

We are a loving family and this shows. It is obvious!  Our laughter is heard throughout the neighborhood in the countryside.

My niece is celebrating her birthday so there is a birthday cake brought and many other delicacies on the table.

We enjoy all these delicacies over a cup of coffee and refreshments and it is late in the afternoon when the party is over.  Each one gets in the car and drives off.
Of course there were many more photos, which are very personal and I cannot share, and lots of funny videos that I don't dare show to everyone! People will think we are crazy!

Probably we are crazy because we truly love each other so much.  This thing is for sure.

What a wonderful day this was indeed!

I am driven to Lefkara Hotel and Restaurant by my cousins, and I say goodbye to the kids and my daughter who are staying with Mum in Larnaca for 8 days.
