Larnaca my Beautiful Home-town !

For those of you who still wonder why I have such passion with my home-town, I have included a video which tells it all.

Sit comfortably on your seat and watch this small video.

I want to give you the whole picture of what I am talking about when I am writing and posting photos of Larnaca.

Your Trip Starts here:

Imagine that you have just landed in the Larnaca terminal and you are at the airport to get the bus or taxi to take you to the city centre. You left your bags at the hotel and you are at the Palm Tree Avenue now. See how beautiful the calm shallow waters next to the marina are! Come along, follow me to the Salt lake….a spot you passed by, on your way to the city centre a few minutes ago.

We return to Larnaca, and come to Agios Lazarus square, and here you have the chance to see a couple of interesting museums.

Larnaca is ideal for Beach holidays and Not only!!.....

Sports, diving, ….and so many other interesting things to do while here.

Now, let's have a look on the beautiful countryside in the outskirts of Larnaca.

Come along…..we are visiting the beautiful village of Lefkara, see the men sitting and playing backgammon at the 'kafenio’. See how original authentic Cypriot products like ‘soutzouko’ are made.

Oh yes….we are now again by the Salt lake. We are at the Turkish monument of Tekke,….read notes that I have from this spot in my entries.

Come to the Larnaca castle near the coast on the other end of the Palm Tree avenue. It is very interesting and worth visiting site, and from up the castle you can see the whole of Larnaca beach and the shopping centre.

Oh we are now at the beautiful ‘ Kamares’ – the grandiose arches of the Larnaca aqueduct. …..Do you think it is time to visit an interesting museum?

Yes, the Pierides Museum is very popular and it is centrally located….a ‘must visit spot’.

How about Stavrovouni in Pyrga!

One of the most revered Monasteries of Cyprus…The main church of the monastery is considered noteworthy.  The church can be dated to the 10th century.  The monastery of Timios Stavros continues even today to maintain the most austere form of monasticism in Cyprus and is linked with the monastic tradition of Mount Athos in Greece.

Let’s move further to the Ancient Kition, one of the first sites that the Cyprus department of Antiquities excavated after the independence of the island in early 1960’s.

Now I guess you are tired of seeing museums, so let’s get down to the beach front and see how locals and tourists entertain themselves out here.

There are countless of choices … long as you have the time.

And finally let’s enjoy some beautiful sunsets in Larnaca!!

Now, I guess you got the picture of Larnaca.  Do you blame me that I want to visit my beautiful country so frequently?  ….I expect comments!

Note: The 25th April I am flying to Cyprus again....and I cannot wait!!
