The first and second day in Cyprus

Today's flight was at 2:00pm……a routine flight for me -luckily it takes only an hour and twenty minutes. I not only hate the time when I have to pack, but also the time spent in the plane. I am lucky because it is not a distant trip.  My sister picked me up from the airport and we went straight home.  It feels good to be at home once again where I am spending the night with Mum and tomorrow morning I am taking the bus for Limassol.

At 8.30 a.m I am up and I go into the kitchen for breakfast.  Mum has already left for the church but now that I am writing everything I regret that I did not take a photo of all the things she put on the table and the kitchen bench for me.

I smiled when I saw the little notes she put next to everything – even a note next to the oranges.  Three of the oranges were sweet and the other three sour, all 6 picked from the orange trees in our garden.

Then I smiled when I saw two or three types of coffee for me to choose from, and on the table there were all sorts of different things all delicacies to choose from.

Of course I had a huge glass of fresh orange juice, but I only had some bread and halloumi (Cypriot cheese).  I am not in Cyprus to gain weight, and I will try to take long walks daily…..the opposite of what I have been doing for a whole month now.

So after breakfast I carefully put everything back in the cupboards, have a shower and get ready.  My sister picked me up from home a little after 10:00 am and drove me to the bus stop in Finikoudes. I am taking the Intercity Buses which are really very cheap.  For years there were always complains on Local Cyprus Transport, and I am so happy that at last there is daily and frequent bus service to all destinations in the southern part since last summer.  The cost from Larnaca to Limassol is just 3 euros and if you buy a return ticket it costs five.

A good friend of mine from Limassol picks me up from the bus-stop and drives me to their house where we have lunch together and afterwards I am driven to a nearby village in the suburbs where I plan to spend one or two days because I want to do some sight seeing in that area.
