Saturday morning and it is packing time for me.  Luckily I don't have much to pack, and I am expecting Evro, my sister to drop by and drive me to the capital.

It is already lunch-time when we reach Nicosia so we decide to have lunch before meeting Mr. and Mrs. Papaioannou. .   I am thankful to have Evro. She is always there for me if I need her, not to mention the T-shirts I am wearing are hers.  I still cannot believe that it is the 20th of November and it is still summer here!

I am going to spend two or three nights at a nice Traditional House called "To Katoi Tis Olgas" in the village of KALOPANAGIOTIS, and the couple is driving me out there this afternoon.

We have a warm welcome in Nicosia and indeed it is as if we know each other for years.  Dinos is the first man who introduced apiculture in Cyprus. Agni on the other hand is a retired lawyer who had been working for the Government, and I am amazed to hear that the idea of Agrotourism in Cyprus was hers.

They are so warm and hospitable, much beyond my expectations.

It is very scarce to find such pure and authentic people nowadays, and I am so lucky to be here with them this very moment.

Evro leaves and we drive off for the valley of Marathasa, - a very fertile valley known for its cherry trees.  It is situated on the northern slopes of the Troodos range, dotted with picturesque villages. Moutoullas and Pedhoulas are two other popular villages in this area.  I just hope I have time to explore them all.

We come to Evrichou and take the Troodos road and from the south along the Limassol – Platres – Prodromos road.

The village of Kalopanagiotis and Pedhoulas are typical mountain villages, very atmospheric with Byzantine museums.  I have read that the best way to explore them is on foot, and that there are a number of nature trails starting from Kalopanagiotis, - the village I am visiting. Of course I don't have so much time for exploration, but if I like the place I can always return and explore more.

One of the UNESCO World Heritage churches is found in Kalopanagiotis, and I cannot wait to visit. I have watched documentaries and seen pictures of this church.

Since I feel so close with my new friends I ask them to drive me to Trooditissa  Monastery and Dino promised to drive me out there first thing tomorrow morning.
