VATHI
It is 5.00 pm and we decide to drive to Vathi or Samos. It is the capital of the island since 1832. We arrange to meet a friend of ours and in the meantime we have a stroll in the sea front and the shopping area.
The old mansions bear witness to the former economic might of the island. At first I wanted to go to a Cypriot Music concert taking place at the Town Hall, but in the end I realized that by the time this would finish it would be too late and so we just had a stroll and left. I got many photos of the capital which are really beautiful, especially at night. We had a stroll through the small roads behind the main road of the port -Sofoulis Avenue where the Market is situated.
On the way back to our apartment we thought of passing through KOKKARI which I believe is the most popular with tourists. I have heard that it is number one on the visitor's list. It has a wonderful beach, graphic tavernas and a wonderful selection of proposals to choose from with respect to the night's entertainment.
We were not able to get to the centre and thought of turning back. It was so crowded that it was impossible to drive through it, so we decide to come back tomorrow.
