Third day!

It is Thursday today and our plans have changed!
We decide to take a stroll to the port of KOS and the old city after breakfast, and find a sailing boat for BODRUM -Turkey, and buy our tickets for tomorrow morning.

The trip costs us just 37 euro (two ways) for the two of us.
We have a stroll in the old town of Kos and since it is a very beautiful day today I want to get down the beach for the first swim this summer.
No wind today.
Bodrum is seen so clearly from the hotel's windown that we cannot resist but sail there first thing tomorrow morning.

We are visiting THERMA this morning after our stroll in the city of Kos.  We have already bought our tickets for tomorrow, so off we go to the beach.
Therma is even less than half an hour from the city of Kos.  It is easy if you have a car like we do.  However there are many tourists coming here at Therma by their bicycles.
You can see families with children cycling under the hot sun, but who seem to be enjoying it.

Cycling lanes are all over the city, even in smaller places.
And the car if you book it like we did (3 months earlier) it is very cheap!
For us it was 23 euro a day!

We come to a dead end road, and we park the car.  There are many other cars parked here......however while climbing down the hill we notice that we could have brought our car a bit lower and not have to walk for 10 minutes to reach the spring.

There are two kiosks selling water and soft drinks here and some snacks, and many tourists seem to enjoy their day out.  The view is panoramic, the sea is calm, and the contrast of the deep blue colour of the sea, and the light blue of the sky makes our day great!  It is magic out here.

We walk down the hill for about 8 minutes and we come to the hot spring coming out from a huge rock.  Many people are lying in the hot water and many others are swimming a few metres farther.  The waters are really cold out in the open sea, but we decide to jump in......It's freezing, so we swim towards the spring.

The hot water is coming out from the rocks and looks like a stream.  People sit on both sides of this small stream and others who are just one metre from the sea are lying there enjoying the feeling of it.  This small stream has just one metre width probably less.

We have lunch at a nearby kiosk which offers beds and umbrellas free of charge as long as you buy something from them.  Wonderful news for all visitors who badly need to buy a cold drink or have a snack
We order lunch, and afterwards we decide to get two beds and an umbrella and relax for an hour or so, watching tourists swimming, as well as listening to the waves moving backwards and forwards, and looking at the seagulls above our heads.

Some goats can be seen on the rocks very high up the steep hill and we can hear their bells round their necks ringing!

We have dinner at a central restaurant in Kos city.
We want to have pizza tonight and drink cold beer.  We order, and while sitting waiting for our order to come I watch the owner of the restaurant.
He really knows his job very well!!
He loves his work, and I watch him how he communicates with his customers.

I believe I have to mention him in this entry because I need to remember him and because I recommend this restaurant for any members of TPod who will spend time in Kos.

Tourists keep coming back to him again and again.  He is known by most tourists who come to the Island for a second or third time.  He offers different dishes or drinks to his friends and he is a real exception compared to other owners!!!

JUMBO STYLE RESTAURANT  is the name of his Grill house, which also serves Gyros and souvlaki.  The restaurant is situated at the corner of Agia Paraskevi square very near the Ancient Agora.  It is worth visiting!! He speaks real good English and he told me that he is Greek coming from Australia.  It is a family run business.
