The photos in this entry are from our ride to the island of Margarita.

It is an island in the Danube River between Buda and Pest. A great park of more than 2.500 metres long, with much beauty and a place of relaxation and fun for not only locals but tourists as well. In other words it is a popular recreational area.

I loved its greenery, and the beautiful gardens.  We just had a 10 minute walk, and all the other tour was done from the train.

One of the highlights here is the water tank which is used as a viewpoint and a temporary exhibition hall. Of course there are other interesting things to see, like the swimming pool with water slides which seems to be something like an oasis during the summer months. Other highlights are the convent of Santa Margarita, a small Zoo, and a little church.
