Easter in Keratea with relatives

Last night, Holy Saturday we went to Church at 11:00 pm before midnight and returned home after the Church Service at 2.30 after midnight.
The table was ready for the Eastern dish of Magiritsa and we cracked our red eggs. In the morning we drove to Athens.
We are in Daskalio in Keratea in the outskirts of Athens celebrating Easter this year
The day is beautiful and we make –souvla, which is pieces of lamb on the spit.
After fasting for 50 days we are all anxious to taste the lamb on the spit.
The smell of the meat on the spit spreads in the air making us anxious to sit at the table. There are all sorts of salads and appetizers….but in reality what we all want is to taste the meat.
We leave Daskalio late in the afternoon and return to our house in Athens because tomorrow morning I am flying to Cyprus and there is still some packing for me to do. Besides I need to go to bed early as it is an early flight and I badly need to get some rest.
