We fly to Bali early in the morning, the 15th of August. I have nice memories from this place. I am anxious to see if the hotel which I myself booked covers my expectations.
I wanted to book an "All Inclusive" Hotel, and this time we wanted to book at Nusa Dua area.
We are in Bali again....we are being picked and driven to the hotel. We have a warm welcome with a nice exotic drink and a wet refreshing towel to wash. The Balinese people are very friendly and they are always smiling. It is this smile that I have missed.
We are now wearing our ID-Ribbons, which we should keep at our wrist during our entire stay
Luckily it is how I expected it......we put on our swimming suits and we get seats by the swimming pool.
The first thing I want to do now is to have a long stroll and get to know the surroundings. I meet women and arrange to meet the following morning to have my first massage.....To my surprise you pay something like 3 euro for one hour.....and I had 3 women (all friends) who seemed to be sharing whatever I gave them.
I am very excited, and arrange to meet them in the afternoon as well. Day after day I get to know some of the local women because they have small children and I go near them and talk. They are friendly, and I decide to bring them food from the hotel. I do this for 3 days, but on the fourth the man at the bar told me that it is forbidden. You see, I let the man at the breakfast room know that I was giving different cakes and sweets to the little ones.
The funny thing is that the masseur from the hotel seeing that I was so fond of this activity, offered to make a 50% if I preferred her instead of the women. So fro the 3rd day on, I had
her to give me my morning massage outside at the pool
The days go by so quickly. We have become friends with another Greek couple and arrange to have a tour to the whole Island by a private taxi.
In Bali the people are very religious. Women are seen daily offering flowers and part of their dishes to the gods. They step on the altars which are found in the yards of their houses or come down to the beach and let the offerings in the water.
We have a tour and approach the volcano KIDAMANI. The view from the restaurant is great, and many children come and beg us to buy postcards, pens and wooden crafts.
I have to say that although I like Bali and its people, yet I come here not for the exotic beaches.
Oh no... If I want to enjoy the sea I either stay in Greece or choose another exotic destination, but not Balli !! I have come here for this difference in the nature. To see the green rice fields, and the temples where they give offers, and lastly to see the wonderful sunset from the temple of BATOUAN .
