FLIGHT TO ASSUAN - 18th and 4th day of the trip!

It is 6.30 am and today we are driven to the airport for a flight to ASSUAN. Some of the tourists who were with us in Cairo and Alexandria are returning to Athens today.
The tour leader can control the group better now, and it is better for us too. It is the 4th day and we start getting to know each other, we share jokes, and exchange thoughts.
ASSUAN is Egypt's door to Africa, and we are eager to see as much as possible.

It is noon, and we are on board the cruise ship. We get our rooms and have lunch. Our room has a HUGE window, and the scene outside is spectacular!! The banks of the Nile are so fertile! There are Palm trees, and people on the banks of the river are working in the fields. We cannot take our eyes off the window. It is as if we are in our rooms and we are watching a movie!! People here are still farming the same crops in the same way as their ancestors.

It is the 6th day.
It is the 20th and we are still sailing ....
LUXOR contains the largest collection of historical monuments in Egypt. We visit ancient THEBES and the VALLEY OF THE KINGS, the TEMPLE OF QUEEN HATSHEPSUT,
KARNAK, and the incredible temple of Luxor on a high dune overlooking the Temple of KOM OMBO.

We have arranged to have a party tonight on board the ship. We have nice people in the group, and we meet all at the dining room with the clothes we bought from Luxor today. The party is great. All the men from the group are dressed in long Arab dresses wearing a long piece of cloth round their heads, and the women wear their new Arab costumes as well. We all look nice, and we have much fun. We play games and it is really magic.
