The Pirate of the Indian Ocean

Today is Neptune Day. The day that one first crosses the equator on a ship is always Neptune Day. From pollywog to shellback in a moment.

They want me to shave my head. They want me to rinse from tip to toe in "fish guts". They want me to do many things.

I rebel. I am not a pollywog, nor am I a shellback. I am a pirate. A noble pirate, but I am a pirate none-the-less.

Pirates are anti-establishment. Pirates have well-developed sideburns. Pirates have a scruffy goatee. Pirates have a sash. Pirates have some ornate jewelry. Pirates have a secret that sparkles in their eyes. Pirates have shell leis on their wrist and ankle. Pirates have a shark tattoo. Pirates are always chewing on something. Pirates have linen shirts with the top buttons unbuttoned. Pirates have a 'skull cap'. Pirates wear tattered pants. Pirates have eye-liner.

I, yes I, am a pirate. Here me 'arrrrr.'
