"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark Twain

OK check list, save up - check, leave work - check, let flat - check, buy ticket to somewhere interesting - hmmm...

So we're sort of organised, just have to decide where to go for the next 18 months... it will start off in exciting places like Acton, Anglesey, Scunthorpe and Warrington and hopefully end up in such dreary places as Louang Prabang, Thiruvananthapuram, Fansipan, Mandalay, Dali, Bonny Doon, Rangphu and Phnom Peng, although not necessarily in that order...

Any suggestions as to where our first destination should be, on a postcard to...

Criteria:
1) somewhere the 'George and Tony show' don't plan on invading...

2) Somewhere we may actually keep the shirts on our backs (in a thieving sense) although somewhere one can remove one's shirt for a spot of sunbathing may be nice from time to time....

3) Since we have been jabbed with every conceivable vaccine from Rabies to Diptheria it would be nice to have not suffered in vain, so better make it the tropics... We'll pass on Ebola, SARS and Leishmaniasis however though...

4) Lets throw ourselves in at the deep end and choose a destination where we have no common language, preferably somewhere with a completely unintelligible script, and no way of getting any currency in advance...

Personally I rather like the sound of the 'axis of evil', but we've been to the USA on several occasions so perhaps we'll pass this time...

Anyway tune in to this web site as often or as infrequently as you like to get updates on our wanderings, and if we can actually work the new-fangled digital cameras there may even be illustrations from time to time, you lucky people!

Lots of Love
