In the interests of fairness, having travelled to the northernmost part of Goa, we felt we should also try out the south.

Actually, that's a lie. Even I was getting a little distracted with the dirtiness of Arambol beach and Stephan had found a place in the guide book that looked like the perfect antidote and which just happened to be at the opposite end of the state.
