well I guess this is my first real blog!Have finally arrived in Colombia after nearly a year of planning. Bit of chaos up until the flight to Bogotá. Got to London ok, but had to spend the night in terminal 2 cos my flight to Paris wasn't til the next morning. so try as i may,no sleep!Arrived down at check-in at 5am, half demented with lack of sleep to find big queue already formed at desks.Luckily I got in when I did, because after that chaos reigned as about 200 people on 3 different airline flights then queued up at the same desks. But navigated my way quickly through onto the plane. Arrived in Paris in manner of Sean of the Dead and simply stood in the massive crazy Parisian security queue in a daze while Canadians complained bitterly all around me.
Liked the flight to Bogota tho,got chattin to some people on the plane, good food, free champagne offered at bang on 12 o'clock...my kind of flight!
so I'm now writing this from my penthouse suite on the third floor of Germán's actual penthouse. Probably the single most beautiful apartment I've ever been in. 3 floors, and all with wall to wall glass looking out over the most fabulous panoramic view of the city. You can't even begin to imagine the sheer size of the place until you see it for yourself.
So I've just been taking it easy most of the day, freaked me out a little when the time suddenly changed from 9pm to 3pm and I got to live half my day over again!Just chilled at the house for a while then went into the city centre for "Juan Valdez", which appears to be the Colombian version of Starbucks and all the rage on a wednesday night, since we couldn't find a seat anywhere! Good coffee though! Over here they drink "tinto", which is like an Americano except not as large, less strong and never drunk with milk. So I'm trying to wean myself onto the black coffee...when in Rome and all that! Then back to the penthouse for a lovely dinner cooked by the live in maid Cecilia. Not too shabby! But they have some really wierd fruit here. I had some cactus for starters, it was actually quite tasty!

ok,gotta go, jet lag is bound to kick in soon!! Hope everyone back home and beyond is doing good. XXX
