So, who has been keeping the secret of how beautiful northern Wyoming is? I've only been along I80 in Wyoming and we all know that there is NOTHING to see there! But, head north and it's a different story! I can't get over all we saw aside from Yellowstone and the Tetons.
Just south of Yellowstone is the Grand Tetons, so south we went! The Tetons are a beautiful mountain range that jut right up from the ground with no rolling hills to precede them. The second tallest peak is Mt. Owen, which is a family name for me however I don't think there is a connection but cool all the same! Our travels were blessed with the blooming of wildflowers everywhere and the roadways and trails were alive with color. We stayed just east of the Tetons in a small, cute town of Dubois. We saw two petroglyph sights, one in Dubois and the other in Thermopolis (where we had to stop to soak in the springs of course). Amazing to see these ancient pictures carved into stone and wonder about the people who carved them and the purpose in doing so. Wind River Canyon was an amazing drive as was Big Horn Canyon and we were lucky enough to do that one twice! After my dear husband forgot his wallet 100 miles back at our cottage - Er! Go visit Wyoming!
