We hit the road for Glacier National Park where one of my best friends from high school was getting married.  We drove through North Dakota as it was the last continental state I hadn't been in and the second to last for Jeremy (other is Michigan).  The western end was very pretty with landscape similar to the Badlands in South Dakota and home to Roosevelt National Forest.  Eastern end was rather sparse with wide open spaces of farmland and small towns.  Did you know there is actually a town called Home on the Range?  How cute is that!

The weather for the wedding was perfect and the setting unforgettable.  It was a small affair and rented two large cabins between family and friends that each slept about 14 people.  With a couple of days before and after the wedding to relax and spend time together.  It also gave Jeremy and I a chance to explore the park a bit more since last summer we had the dogs with us and couldn't get off onto any trails.  However, last summer we got to ride over the pass but it was still closed when we got there on June 17th.  Montana had record snowfall last winter and there was still 8+feet on the road when we got there.  So it was a little give and take and we got the best of both with each trip.  Jeremy and a couple of friends went rafting down the middle fork of the Flathead River.  Jeremy said the rapids in India were quite a bit more intense than these but a blast none the less.

We didn't see much wildlife in Glacier except for a Grizzly far away in the distance outside the park and a grizzly on the side of I90 drinking out of a pond!  I couldn't believe there was a bear so close to the interstate.  Poor guy!
