THE "perfect beach"

(S) Ahhh...finally. We have found the perfect beach. The pictures don't do it justice. The knee deep, bath temperature water goes out from the beach for 50 meters. Why don't more people come to Crete? Oh right, it's not that easy to get to. Unless you're from Germany and then you can fly anytime you want.
Reaching this beach was not easy. It poured rain the night before and when we crawled out of our sweet tent, it was still raining and not looking good for beachgoing. We climbed in the car nonetheless and started the drive over the huge mountains of Crete. Seriously, they are big. Anyway, we took the advice of our German friends from Agia Galini and took a road that was partially washed out from the rain. And we had to stop the car once so I could move 2 very small baby lambs from the middle of the road where they were sleeping. Good thing - a giant truck rounded the corner right after that.
But we made it. And the sun was out and Germans were grilling themselves in the sun. And the beach was perfect. A perfect way to end our perfect time in Crete.
