(S) Long before we came up with this whole Great Escape to Europe for five months idea, we talked about spending a few days in Aix for a vacation.
We spent two days here in April, spending the night in a campground above the city. Still a bit cold for camping, but what the heck - it's cheap, right?
The city was so alive. Vendors selling candles, jewelry, and incense lined the Cours Mirabeau. As we wandered the streets we found a flower market filling an entire square. Further into our wanders we found a fish market already being dismantled for the day. We had lunch in this square which completely changes from market to lively pedestrian square in a manner of minutes. Of course, as in all French cafes, the special usually involves an Italian pasta dish. Which was delicious.
