(S) Antibes was the first stop on our little tour around the Cote d'Azur and Provence. Our apartment was in a perfect jump off spot for day-tripping around the area.
(C) In college, I spent a couple days in this neck of the woods looking for the perfect place for my family to stay when they came to visit. Something on the water, easy to get to, classy enough for adults, not expensive. Oh yeah, and I don't have a car. So I can just walk from Antibes to Juan les Pins around the coast right? It's only an inch or so on the map. This, my friends, is what a top-notch college education will buy you these days in the States. I walked for three hours and hadn't even rounded the Cap. And, sadly, I did not know the path ends somewhere out there. Then you have to walk back. I arrived that night back in the Cap d'Ail youth hostel with bloody ankles and a wretched attitude. Then I discovered my bed (whichever one it was cause you don't know) was taken. The place was full and everyone was asleep. Somebody in that room had taken a spot that was mine, but which one? I slept on the ground outside for the next three nights.
BUT, to make a pointless story shorter, now that we have a car, why not try this again and have a picnic to boot! What a beautiful afternoon staring at the surf. Bottle of wine. Bread. Cheese. Meat. Enough said. More thumbnails ...
