Köln was a chance to really chill out. My aunty Patsy lives here and she opened her doors to us. It was amazing to have that feeling that you were at home. We slept in, watched TV, wendy had a bath!, and we just felt like we weren't on any sort of a tourist schedule. We are passed the two month point and a real rest like this allowed us to charge up the batteries. We did visit the Koln cathedral and climbed the grueling 500 odd dizzying spiral stairs to the top. It would have been a great view if it wasn't overcast and raining but it was still pretty good. We were amazed at the extent of graffiti within the cathedral spiral. We also visited the gestapo prison and headquarters. The prison cells have been restored and you can see where former prisoners had inscribed chilling messages with their own fingernails.
The really was a chance to relax and we enjoyed every minute of it. We were also able to get a bunch of pictures uploaded since my aunt knew of an internet café with fast computers. It definetly helps that it wasn't 9?/hr!
