When we arrived (still early) we found there was many bungalows to choose from, and were unsure next to which we should be meeting the Parc owner, Olivier Parmentier. He came with David (with a french accent), a few moments after ten, but enough to make us panic no one was coming at all!
Once they introduced us to the project and the routine, we headed over to a large marquee where all the children were "asseyezvous!!!!!!" and some randomly dressed up "animateurs" were keeping watch. We found the theme was King Arthur and every week a knight would go missing and it was the childrens job to find him
After Captain Jack won, including grenades!, we were split up and given groups to go with, chosen for people who spoke English the best! Jess was chosen by Vincent because, and quote "you have a dictionary" but according to Rachel, Hannah and Laurie "because he loves her". Hannah ended up with Jess because her guide Steve left. They played a game involving cards, two flags and lots of running children! The health and safety element was again tested by nearby woodcutters with a chipper and a chainsaw... safe. Rachel went with the older group led by Christel, and Laurie with the wee children. They both made some lifelong friends!
We had lunch provided which was nice, then a random hours break when it started to tip it down, then there was a party. Children being lifted up, danced with v. "closely" left right and centre. Eating of chocolate covered apples game, people trying to convince us to join in... fun times.
We ended the day soggy, a little confused and very tired but with the song waddlyatcha for the childrens benefit of course! We then headed to the hostel via a few metros and a tram. Off to Amsterdam tomorrow afternoon, arriving in the evening. Our last country! Sniff!
lots of love :D
