Darcy and I (as you must already know) like to visit zoo's around the world, so we jumped in a cab for a day trip to KL's "Zoo Negara".  The zoo features about 400 species of Malaysian and exotic mammals, reptiles and birds. The National Zoo is situated 20 miles from the center of Kuala Lumpur.

In the Zoo are numerous paths meandering between wooded groves and tree-lined enclaves where the animal enclosures are located. Among the more exotic exhibits are the Sumatran tiger, orang-utans and gibbons. All are extremely rare outside this part of the world. I have included some of what I think were good pictures during our day trip.

Our next day trip was to the The Kuala Lumpur Tower which was built in 1995.  It is used for communication purposes and features an antenna that reaches 1,381 ft, which currently makes it the fifth tallest tower in the world. The roof of the pod is at 1,099 ft. The rest of the tower below has a stairwell and an elevator to reach the upper area, which also contains a revolving restaurant (booked full when we went), providing diners a beautiful view of the city. The day we went a rain shower came and killed most of the pictures, but that is how it goes!
