We read in the travel book that in order to get good pictures at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market you have to get there before 7:00am. So we hired a taxi to drive us the 2 hour trip starting at 5:00am in order to get there in time. Purchased a ticket for a long boat ride down the canals and though the market. Wooden canoes laden with multicolored fruits and vegetables, many different colored clothes and wide-brimmed straw hats: this is the realm of postcards (which I think I got some).

The reality reveals a scene of commercial chaos, starting early we were able to see the vendors set-up their canoes. Then as the buses came in around 9:00am it started to become a made house! Hundreds of tourists from around the world come to see the market. We left about noon making our way back to Bangkok for the pool and a nap after a 4:30am wake-up.

The video gives you a good feel for what was going on during the "rush hour".
