We went with a group to the see the Foz do Iguacu (falls) the stupendous roar of 275 waterfalls crashing 80 meters into the Rio Iguacu (name of the river) is something to see (as you can see from the pictures above)

From the Brazil side you get a view which gives you the feeling of how large the falls are, but you are not to close. On the Brazilian side there is a long walkway along the canyon with an extension to the lower base of the "Garganta del Diablo".

The first European to find the falls was the Spanish Conquistador ┴lvar N˙˝ez Cabeza de Vaca in 1541. Upon seeing Iguašu, First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt reportedly exclaimed "Poor Niagara!" Vastly larger than North America's Niagara Falls, Iguašu is rivaled only by Southern Africa's Victoria Falls which separates Zambia and Zimbabwe.
