We purchased tickets to fly north to Mumbai for our last stop. The flight was about 1-1/2 hours with no delays, made our way via taxi to what is called the "Fort Area" of town. I made a short video of our stay in the city.

Our first visit was to Victoria Terminus train station, named in honor of the Queen and Empress Victoria (new name Chatrapati Shivaj); it was opened on the date of her Golden Jubilee in 1887. This station gets a 1/2 million travelers each day and from the video you can get a feel for what it is like during the morning rush!

Next visit was to see the Gateway of India which was built to commemorate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to what was then called Bombay in 1911.

We took a one hour boat ride over to Elephanta Island which is one of a number of islands in Mumbai Harbor.  This island is a popular tourist destination for a day trip because of the island's cave temples, that have been carved out of rock.

Rest of our time spent shopping, eating, drinking and enjoying our last days in India.
