Moving north and west our next stop was Walvis Bay (Dutch/Afrikaans Walvisbaail meaning "Whale Bay"), is the name of both a port in Namibia and the bay on which it lies.

The bay has been a haven for sea vessels because of its natural deepwater harbor, protected by the Pelican Point sand spit, being the only natural harbor of any size along the country's coast.

We took a 4X4 ride to Sandwich Harbor to ride the dunes and see the bird and sea life. It was a fun day.

Ocean front homes (4 bedrooms 3 baths)for about $200,000!
