The small town of "Wilderness" is surrounded by many rivers and natural lakes and lagoons. It makes itself home next to the "Wilderness National Park" a great spot for water sport enthusiasts, who flock there regularly.

As you can see we went canoing on the river and did a 3 hour hike within the forest. The National Park has five rivers, five lakes, two estuaries and 12 miles of coastline. Wilderness sports many types of wildlife, in particular birds. Many types of water birds breed here and this makes it ideal for bird-watchers. We saw some of many but could not get any good pictures (to far-away).
