Wednesday 29th sep

More travelling today, this was a long day, first a flight from Garoka to Port Morsbey, a long wait at the airport and then a second flight Port Morsbey to Wewak via madang, about 8 hours travelling in total. The Sepik region does not have road links with other parts of PNG so there was no choice to get to Wewak. We got to our hotel in Wewak (the Wewak boutique hotel) and decided it was time to hit the bar, or so we thought, seems the bar doesn't open until 06:30. On our way to the bar at 06:31 we were met head on by a group of 24 Americans going into the Restaurant, Oh dear we thought, we will not be eating in there tonight, they filled the restaurant. So we went to the bar and had a beer, and worked on our next plan of action. As we did some people started coming into the bar and they were rearranging the tables into a long line, oh no, this time we had a group of 10 Germans who had booked out the bar for a buffet dinner. Milo went to the reception area to ask where we might be able to eat our dinner, we were tired and hungry. The receptionist suggested we could eat our dinner in our room, well that didn’t go down too well with the Milo. Turned out that neither the 24 americans nor the 10 Germans were staying at the hotel they had just come to eat.

Anyway they managed to get us a table in the corner of the Bar where we could sit and have some dinner, and the Germans were not too noisy, so that was good, bet the Restaurant was a bit noisier.
