For the next few months, our mission will be to recuperate a large part of the funds we spent over the last 6 months. We had already spent twice as long in Australia as we had planned, and consequently spent twice as much money as we had planned - leaving us with not a lot!

Thankfully our working visas meant that we could stay in Australia for 12 months and work for 3 months in any one job. Our rough calculations (if we got decent jobs) were that we needed to work for about 3 months in order to save enough to continue our travels into New Zealand and then most of South East Asia.

We had already admitted defeat in terms of our planned full world tour (in one go) so would probably return to the UK when our money ran out and save for another year before travelling the second stint of our tour; around South, Central and North America.

Andrew had already secured a job at the Sydney office of Prysmian (the company he had worked for before we left the UK). We didn't know how long the job would last but it was a start. Manly in northern Sydney would be our base and Verdi would look for a job in the vicinity.

From here on in our daily exploits might be a bit dull to say the least so until we finish work the TravelPod entries will be more of a weekly entry; with the highlights of our time in the 'Real Capital' of Australia.

So don't go away - just because we're not doing as much doesn't mean we won't have some interesting tales to tell along the way - stay tuned! In fact, why not revisit some of our previous entries; either ones you have missed or ones you liked the best - you can help our TravelPod become one of Top 25 most visited! Hey - if you're feeling really generous you could even make a donation to our travels - theres a link somewhere near the top of this page!!
