So I have my new laptop and it was absolutlely worth the wait!!

The weekend was interesting.  Dallas was a bit of a disapointment.  Not really all that much to see.  I was never to interested in the whole JFK thing.  To be honest I had no idea even that he was assisinated in Dallas.  However, it was worth visiting this landmark.  I learnt a bit about US history.  There are so many conspiricay theories as to why he was assisinated and I guess we will never really know the answers.

For the evening we wanted a romantic dinner in Dallas and actually booked a place.  However, somehow we missed that there was some huge public event happening and so besides getting lost and then not finding parking, we missed our reservation.  At 22h00 we tried the first diner we saw who put us on a 2-hour waiting list, not quite what we had in mind.  I was starving by then, so I suggested the burger place next door.  This ended up being a Hooters!!  And yes, we stayed and ate there.  If anyone is wondering, this is the franchise that is known for their waitresses wearing the most skimpy clothing possible.  I have to admit this was not my initial idea for our Saturday night but it ended up being fun.  Hooters had good food, and the cutest identical boy triplets sitting accross from us.  I'd rather not venture about parents taking kids (surely not more than 8 years old and to top it off boys) to a place like this but they were adorable!

Dallas had one other redeeming feature.  I got great black boots at such discount!!!

Sondag was beter.  Ons het so 30 myl wes gery na Fort Worth.  Di's nou rerig 'n intersante "cowboy" dorp.

I have to earn my keep somehow!!

Yes, this country varies greatly, much to see.
Wow, I wish I had seen your post when you were planning the journey. I'm just north of you in Georgetown, TX - though I doubt you are still close.

As webmaster for www.smalltowngems.com I have traveled the back roads of this country and am always amazed at all there is to see.

Please note that I am one of the 5% with a passport and it has gotten me into 7 countries so far. Was in Paris and Venice last October and Mexico in Jan. '09. However, the back roads of the US keep calling me to visit.

Enjoy your travels - I wish you good fortune.
