Typical tourist
Yesterday, I went to the CN tower with my newfound friends Yana from Germany and Prue from down under. The sights were nice and in hindsight, $21 is too much to look at buildings from high up. We were taking pictures of very random things like the window washer tied by one rope. I went back by myself to eat lunch and meet with Raki, a new hostel employee conducting a free tour. It was her, myself, some quiet starer from Germany, and Greselda from Barsalona. We got on the trolley going down queen which I loved. Raki had brought her dog, Buddy, which I got to hold as he popped his head out of the window. We walked through a park, little Italy, little China, and Kensington market. Greselda was great to talk to; she's doing 5 months, 5 countries and very nice. The german guy seemed like he went because it was required for school or something. Raki was very excited as this is her 3rd day working with hi-hostels and her 1st tour. She kept saying "but I'm not quite sure if that's correct, but hey you're on the free tour!". Reminded me of Slumdog Millionaire when they made facts up at the palace. She made up for any shortcomings with her dog.
Limp dick
So I spent well over an hour getting ready to go to church-wesseley village, toronto's gay district. This was something I was most excited about on my trip but I ended up not being here on a weekend. Big mistake. I was so excited because it was where Queer as Folk was filmed and it's supposed to be a great area. The only people that were out shouldn't have been; middle-aged overweight men trolling around.
at casual dining Italian. They were quite defensive of Canada being so different from the USA when in reality, they gave many many more similarities than differences. I guess I'll just have to rufee a straight man; God knows they are cute here.... and short.
Shower and "oh shit"
Today I am staying in to blog and do laundry. I decided I was going to wash some things in the shower. I had two bags: one with oxiclean and one with tide. I put the clothes and water in them, swished them around, rinsed them in the shower head, rung them out, and they're hanging to dry off my bed. My dad would be proud.
After I was done I went to turn off the shower head and, shit the handle just broke off! It got stuck on cold and I couldn't get it back in so I left it running and found a maid. As I was getting ready by the sinks, I hear " oh my god! Now i'm going to have to go to home depot!". Should I take this as a bad omen to not do laundry in the shower? Later, I went down to the kitchen and the water was shut off. Just then, the maintenence guy came by and informed people of the situation... Oops!
Queen
I saw there were $20 tickets for a show called "We Will Rock You" on Tuesday nights so I took the subway to the panasonic theatre. Turns out I got one of the last two tickets! My tcket was labeled partial view but I think I had a great spot. The show was a little corny (sci-fi futuristic) but the music (Queen) was excellent!

the CN Tower
I was even persistant; Grady's diner had some ugly straight guy who didn't know if he could ring in a drink. Woodys had a pudgy twink that wouldn't even talk to me after I overtipped; the karaoke bar was dead because their karaoke was missing a piece. Their bartender was having fun but wouldn't even donate a dollar to my AIDS walk after he grabbed my crotch (the straight bartender did)! The Byzantine, the drink cost me $12.50..... Granted it was almost worth it. That's the other thing: no overpouring or happy hour here! They measure and charge $6 no matter what. The only friends I made were 2 girls who workat casual dining Italian.
