Our first day at Disney World was at the Magic Kingdom. We were pretending it was Christopher's birthday today rather than yesterday because we thought that was more fun than spending your birthday in the car. He was given a birthday badge by the resort to wear and everywhere we went the cast members wished him Happy Birthday. He also received a $75 gift card to spend anywhere in DisneyWorld. His request was to go on Space Mountain so we went straight there, fortunately there were no queues and therefore no waiting. In fact the only ride we waited for was Peter Pan's Adventures and the only ride we used a Fast Pass was Thunder Mountain Railway which is always very popular but a technical hitch closed the ride for a short time and therefore lines were longer than usual. The weather was overcast although not cold and luckily we chose to get an early lunch (as we hadn't had breakfast and also wanted to beat any potential lunch crowd). While we were in having lunch there was a very heavy rain storm which sent people running for cover, we however remainded dry. The rain only stayed for a short time and we were quickly back out on the rides. We had lot's of fun and the fireworks at the end of the day were probably some of the best I have ever seen. Peter, Rebecaa and Andrew left a little early to go the the nearby Outlet Shopping Mall (Rebecca has been desparate to get there before she leaves on Monday). Christopher and Glenda stayed until the end and then caught one of the resort buses back to the resort. Not sure which world we will visit tomorrow?
